Charm Alert! I’ve had the pleasure of partnering with local credit union, Wescom! My husband and I were already members, so joining them to inspire and educate financial wellness was a no-brainer. And anyone in Southern California can open a Wescom account.

It’s no secret that I love supporting local businesses and with Wescom, it feels like having financially knowledgeable family members. I’ve been fortunate to work with Wescom both as a social media consultant and a city influencer. I recently planned a gorgeous brunch that took place at Brookside Golf and Country Club where I had the opportunity to meet and network with other local bloggers and learn amazing tips to share with you.  

I attended their “Women and Investing” seminar hosted by Scott Gevertz and Yelena Kalashnikova, Wescom Financial Services financial advisors, who presented key information and insight, including the reasons why women’s economic clout is growing, the unique financial challenges women face, and  the steps women can take to help them achieve financial security.

Steps women can take –

In the past, women may have taken a less active role in household financial decision making. But, for many, the days are over. Today, women have more financial responsibility for themselves and their families. So it’s crucial that women know how to save, invest and plan for the future.

1. Take control of your money
2. Become a knowledgeable investor
3. Plan for retirement
4. Advocate for yourself in the workplace
5. Seek help to balance work and family
6. Protect your assets
7. Create an estate plan.

This was an eye-opening experience for me. When I asked what is the first step to take, they said to dust off my financial folder (I have it hidden somewhere in my closet) and start a budget! In other words, gather all my financial paperwork and records and GET ORGANIZED.
