Hi! My name is Jessie and I am one half of The Wilde Bloem! I met sweet Taryn about a year ago at Madewell in Pasadena while we were planning a fun shopping event together. Since then Taryn and I have bumped into each other all around town, Trader Joe’s, Le Pain Quotidien, and of course Madewell. When we first met, The Wilde Bloem was just beginning and I hadn’t quite let the world in to my little project. Recently my Sister-in-Law/BFF, Ashleigh and I, joined forces and decided to rip the band-aid off and put our all into this little company. We have loved every second of it! We have both been making things for as long as we can remember and love that it has turned into more than just a hobby. We are so thankful for Mrs. Charm herself for being so supportive of our new endeavor!
The name of our company is really important to us as well. Wilde Bloem means Wild Flower in a not-so-accurate Dutch translation. We love the idea of a wild flower because of a quote that St. Therese once said, “The splendor of the rose and whiteness of the lily do not rob the little violet of its scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. I realized that if every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness and there would be no wild flowers to make the meadows gay.”
